Microsoft Office for Mac Price in India (MacBook Guide 2026)

Bought a MacBook and realised Pages and Numbers aren't going to cut it when your college or office sends .docx and .xlsx files? You need Microsoft Office for Mac. Here's which version to buy and what to check before paying.

Check your macOS version first

Each Office for Mac version supports only recent macOS releases. Click Apple menu → About This Mac to see yours. As a rule of thumb, newer Office needs newer macOS — if your Mac is several years old and stuck on an older macOS, an older Office version may be the one that installs.

Our recommendation

Office Home & Business 2024 (Windows / Mac) — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook, with commercial use rights and support until October 2029. The best long-term buy for a current MacBook Air or Pro.

Just need Word, Excel and PowerPoint for studies? Office Home 2024 covers that for one Mac:

Older Mac versions

For Macs on older macOS, or if budget matters more than the newest features:

Office for Mac 2016 and 2019 no longer receive updates from Microsoft, so they're best for offline or older machines.

Does Office for Mac work on Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4)?

Yes. Recent Office for Mac versions run natively on Apple Silicon and are fast. Very old builds (2016) were made for Intel Macs and run through Rosetta.
