TallyPrime Silver vs Gold — the only real difference

Both have identical features — accounting, GST returns, inventory, payroll, e-invoicing, e-way bills. The difference is how many people can use it at the same time:

• Silver: single user, one PC.
• Gold: unlimited users on the same office network (LAN). Your accountant, billing staff and you can all work at once.

If only one person ever enters data, Silver is enough. The moment two people need it simultaneously, you need Gold.

Do I need to renew TSS?

Tally keeps working without TSS. But GST rules change often, and without TSS you don't get the updates that keep your returns compliant, and features like connected GST and remote access stop. Most businesses renew.

Busy vs Tally — which is better?

Busy is a strong Indian accounting package, popular with traders and distributors, with excellent inventory, batch/expiry tracking and MIS reports. Tally has the bigger ecosystem — almost every accountant and CA in India knows it, and hiring staff who know Tally is easy.

• Choose Tally if your CA uses it, or you want the most widely known system.
• Choose Busy if you're a trader/distributor wanting detailed inventory at a lower cost.
