Free phone activation (official Microsoft method)

If online activation says the key must be activated by phone, Microsoft provides a free, automated phone activation. It works for genuine keys that are allowed to activate on your PC.

Windows

1. Press Windows + R, type slui 4 and press Enter.
2. Select India (or your country) and click Next.
3. Call the toll-free number shown — or use the website link Microsoft offers on that screen — and enter the Installation ID when asked.
4. Type the Confirmation ID you receive into the boxes and click Activate Windows.

Office

1. Open Word → File → Account → Activate Product (or the activation prompt).
2. Choose “I want to activate the software by telephone” and select your country.
3. Call the number shown, enter the Installation ID, then type the Confirmation ID you receive and click Next.
