Office 2019, 2021 & 2024 Offline Installer: How to Install

Slow broadband, a metered connection, or an office PC with no internet at all. If you need to install Office from a pen drive, Microsoft has an official tool for it: the Office Deployment Tool (ODT). You download Office once, then install it anywhere.

Note: this method suits Professional Plus / volume-type editions. For Home editions bought from Microsoft's store or a retail card, use the installer link in your order email. Not sure which you have? Ask us on WhatsApp (+91 84097 62326).

Step 1: get the tool

1. Search "Office Deployment Tool" and download it from microsoft.com only.
2. Run the downloaded file and extract it into a new folder, for example C:\ODT. You'll see setup.exe.

Step 2: create the configuration file

In that folder create a text file named configuration.xml. Copy the block for your version. The example is for 64-bit Windows.

Office 2021 Professional Plus

For Office 2024 use Channel="PerpetualVL2024" and Product ID="ProPlus2024Volume". For Office 2019 use Channel="PerpetualVL2019" and Product ID="ProPlus2019Volume".

Want to leave out apps? Add a line like <ExcludeApp ID="Publisher" /> inside the Product block.

Step 3: download once

Open Command Prompt in that folder and run:

setup.exe /download configuration.xml

Office is downloaded into the folder (about 2 to 4 GB). Copy the whole folder to a pen drive.

Step 4: install on any PC, with or without internet

setup.exe /configure configuration.xml

When it finishes, open Word and enter your product key. Activation itself needs internet or a phone call. See the activation guide.
